Issues with the Chrome extension “Microsoft Single Sign On”

When you use Chrome on a corporate network, you need an extension called “Microsoft Single Sign On” to be correctly authenticated with the Microsoft 365 websites (like SharePoint, …).

Recently the extension failed multitimes and I was not able to connect to my Microsoft work account anymore using Chrome. I had to clear cookies, restart the computer, etc.

By searching on reddit, I found it’s now possible to get ride of the extension because Chrome can natively handle this type of connection. To proceed, you need to edit the Windows Registry to add a REG_DWORD, as explained in the Chrome documentation.

It’s been a couple of weeks I’m using it, and no more issues!
